ADVERTORIAL: The fundamentals of health

Healthcare in South Africa requires urgent transformation through innovation.

05 March 2020

The healthcare industry once sat at the forefront of technology innovation and implementation. In the 1900s, it was healthcare that would adopt new ideas and solutions with an alacrity that it lacks today. Now, technology within the sector has slowed almost to a standstill with outdated methodologies and systems impacting on efficiency and potential. For BCX, it’s a landscape that requires a commitment from both the public and private sector to ignite change and reshape the future.

“One of our fundamental objectives is to improve efficiencies in healthcare,” says Bandile Hadebe, healthcare vertical lead, BCX. “There are a lot of bottlenecks and touchpoints that could be redressed and can change the way that the healthcare profession manages patient care and support. The structural arrangement of healthcare in South Africa today is not sustainable and we need to develop a strategy that allows for improved distribution of resources and access to medical care.”
