Breaches are a reality of the connected world, and it’s getting worse. According to the website Breach Level Index, nearly five million data records are lost or stolen every day ‒ a rate of 56 records per second. And 2017 was a bumper year: detected breaches doubled over the previous year.

The good news is that companies are starting to get the message, says Rick Rogers, regional director for Checkpoint: “The relevance of security today across the market versus five years ago is phenomenal. The awareness, understanding and appreciation are much better. Organisations are taking it a lot more seriously today.”
