Up in the clouds? Not quite yet

If everything is moving to the cloud, enterprises need only look at buying services as and when required.

The monetary and human resource investment that has been made by large enterprises into IT infrastructure and data storage and management facilities is the single biggest stumbling block to the pervasive adoption of cloud computing.

Two other factors that cause this inertia are high data costs and the reluctance to relinquish control of companies’ information into the hands of a third party, the cloud service provider.
