Storage is often the last consideration when firms are planning new infrastructure, it would seem. And, it’s only after a disk failure that people start to take it seriously. It must also be remembered that not all storage is equal; some think that any old drive will do, even if it’s not particularly suited to the task at hand.

Data has always been important, but in the past it was something to be archived in the event of disaster recovery. Now, as organisations embark on a digitisation journey, data is being placed at the centre of the business and is being used to create efficiencies, increase competitiveness, and better serve the customer.
