The Mandalorian wages war on the green screen

Special effects recreate a whole galaxy in a studio not very far, far away.

It’s been a long time since you could believe anything you saw in the movies, where special effects routinely upstage the actors.

Much of the technical trickery in film production revolves around actors being shot in front of a blank green screen and the action added later. It’s a time-consuming process where the green colour is digitally removed or ‘keyed out’ in post-production and replaced by the required background.
