How does the CIO drive innovation in the organisation? Does the initiative need a champion, or is it best introduced by slowly winning colleagues over to the plan? Moreover, the board and especially the chief financial officer see IT as a cost centre. Why should it spend money on something intangible that may or may not deliver ROI?

How are you managing your innovation strategy? Do you have one?

Sven Beckmann, Intel’s regional director for EMEA: There’s a catalyst that typically stems from some sort of leadership. Ultimately, it needs to be a bold vision set from the top that sets the tone to enable the (innovation) path. Business as usual will squash innovation.
