Shaking off the fear

People with social phobia aren`t necessarily shy at all. They can be completely at ease with people some of the time, but in particular situations they feel intense anxiety.

Gene Rality is a young, upwardly-mobile professional. He is all set to present an important proposal. Standing in front of a room full of people isn`t his strong suit, but since this is his project, he`ll have to do the talking.

Dressed in his best Armani suit and wearing a bold power tie, Gene awaits the moment with trepidation, feeling the room getting hot and his tie getting tighter.

Standing up, he breaks into a sweat. If only they would turn up the air-conditioning! Flustered, he confuses the expected sales graph with project expense budgets. The presentation is a disaster.
