BRIDGING THE RANSOMWARE RESILIENCY GAP

SPONSORED: Today’s fragmented work environment, coupled with disorganised data management and evermore sophisticated methods of attack, leaves many organisations vulnerable to ransomware demands from which some may never recover.

Julie Noizeux, Channel Manager South Africa for Veritas Technologies, quotes some scary statistics. Recent surveys have shown that 30% of organisations in South Africa have been hit by ransomware attacks and 71% of workfrom- home employees have inadvertently shared confidential information while using collaborative tools.

Due to their backup practices, South African enterprises are among the least capable of recovering quickly from a ransomware attack. Backup and recovery systems are, unfortunately, not robust enough; therefore, they often have no choice but to pay after an attack.
