“My dad was keen to steer me into accounting. I didn’t like the sound of that, so IT was the middle ground we all agreed on. I didn’t know exactly what it involved when I signed up for it at university, but I soon realised that I loved it,” she says.

Sibiya’s first job was in a service desk environment, and she then worked at Microsoft and GijimaAst as a consultant before joining the banking industry as a business analyst in product development. Feeling drawn to explore core IT infrastructure in more depth, she moved into core IT as the assistant to the CTO.
