TODAY’S STRUGGLE IS TOMORROW’S STRENGTH

SPONSORED: LAWtrust, a cyber security company co-founded by Christi Maherry, has blossomed from a company of two to over 110 people. LAWtrust touches the lives of people every day by protecting around two million transactions daily and the security of identity documents, birth, marriage and death certificates.

LAWtrust walks the talk when it comes to the empowerment of women, while keeping at its core a policy of non-discrimination and employment through recognition of talent. Maherry, also the company’s non-executive chairman, believes women bring strength to the company by painting the rest of the picture, whereas men tend to be more frugal and stick to the sketch.

“However, even in a culture of equality, we still need to have ways to empower women and share the things they need to know,” explains Maherry. “Our Crypto Queens programme, for example, is a mentoring programme where we support and upskill each other in the group. We meet once a month and teach women how to hold up their hands, raise themselves if the hand is ignored and instill a sense of confidence.”
