How often do we blame an individual if something goes wrong? All too often, it seems. We then spend resources and money trying to solve the problem, or develop the individual, while often we’re focusing on the wrong problem.
Here’s an example. One of the smartest and most caring people I've ever worked with was the leader of my programming team. In leadership meetings he seemed distracted and appeared not to be listening, leading some to label him as uncaring and unmotivated.
