An ongoing saga

Industry voices mixed opinions about suspended Telkom officials.

01 November 2005

The suspension of the now famous three musketeers from Telkom has been met with mixed responses from the industry. Some players in the telecoms space say it`s unfair for Telkom to be allowed by Icasa and similar governing bodies to make up its own rules as it goes along, whilst others say it`s a clear case of sour grapes.

Pinky Moholi, chief of sales and marketing, Belinda Williams, investor relations executive and Oupa Magashula, executive of human resources were last month suspended from the recently listed telecoms monopoly pending an investigation into undisclosed allegations.

Telkom has remained tight lipped on the reasons behind the suspensions although industry sources have indicated insubordination as one of the allegations being investigated.
