"I thought computer science was applied technology, but then I realised it was actually using computers to solve problems much quicker; that’s the foundation of computer science. I’m quite analytical, quite logical and very much mathematically inclined, so it was the perfect fit for me,” says Dr Mpho Raborife, a senior lecturer at the University of Johannesburg.

Studying computational linguistics – a growing interdisciplinary field concerned with the computational modelling of natural language – saw Raborife major in both computer science and linguistics.
