Should AI hide what we don't like?

Getting AI to make our online interactions nicer may seem like a good idea. But it might be more damaging than just learning to get along.

Watching the recent live stream EVA session by astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch was interesting. I’m fascinated by our ability to do something as incredibly dangerous as a spacewalk. So to vicariously experience it is a treat.

Alas, the YouTube live chat at the side of the screen was getting me down. Quite a number of people took to accusing it of being fake and repeated Flat Earth nonsense. It reminds me of a meme going around: 'Scientists in 1999: soon we’ll have flying cars! Scientists in 2019: the Earth is not flat!'
