An acrimonious battle over the right to administer the .africa domain name is still churning through the American courts, but it isn’t preventing actual Africans from claiming their own piece of cyberspace.

Already 17 000 addresses have been logged with the .africa suffix since April 2017, even while litigation grinds on half a world away.
