South Africans have a complicated relationship with mobile data. If you asked the average person on the street, they would tell you they pay too much for data, which disappears too quickly.

But looking at the numbers, the cost of mobile data has actually come down considerably over the last decade. Despite this, it’s hard not to question whether data costs are dropping fast enough and if they still sit at unaffordable levels for the majority of South Africans.
