A target of a minimum of 30 percent year-on-year growth, a new e-commerce platform and an increased customer base are only some of the main focuses for Gary Hadfield, the new CEO of N-Direct, which runs the kalahari.net, Leisure Books and Leserkring brands.

Appointed as CEO from 1 July 2005, Hadfield took over the reins from Hein Pretorius, who left to take up a position with MIH (another Naspers subsidiary) in China. Prior to becoming CEO, Hadfield had been commercial manager of Kalahari.net. He joined N-Direct in 2000 as the head of marketing.
