Trust, simplified

TrustFabric is a small startup with a gigantic mission: to restore the balance of power between consumer and vendor.

03 October 2011

Labelled the most ambitious startup to come out of South Africa thus far, TrustFabric aims to empower individuals by providing a platform for consumers to represent themselves and a set of tools with which they can enforce the rights afforded them by recent changes to consumer protection legislation.

As consumers, we’re all too familiar with the painful by-products of living in an era characterised by faceless corporations wherein the customer is just another number. We’ve all had to fill out endless forms, fax certified copies of identification documents, answer endless ‘security’ questions for call centre agents, and we’ve had to do this afresh every time a new relationship with another business is initiated, or even multiple times when any of our personal information changes. Our relationships with financial institutions, mobile telephony, insurance providers and the like are burdened with distrust and inefficiency.
