Universities are slow to change. To be fair, they have had no real reason to transform themselves at a rapid clip, as their teaching model of having a lecturer presiding over a class of students has worked well for centuries.

That was until now. The availability of cheap internetaccessible devices, along with affordable, ubiquitous broadband, is creating an environment that is breaking universities’ de facto monopoly on higher education.
