Legal Eagle: There's an app for that

South African entrepreneurs create a platform designed to resolve legal challenges anytime, anywhere.

08 December 2017

In 2016, three South African entrepreneurs – Malcolm Gray, Garth Watson and Peter Flynn – decided to build Libryo, a platform that allows any person in any organisation to understand precisely where they stand on any legal matter at any time. The idea didn’t so much leap into their brains over a frothy beer but rather came to them as they strolled through a forest. It isn’t often that a leafy glade could be equated with the law, but somehow this team made it work.

“The three of us went walking in Newlands Forest for our first meeting, rather than pontificating in a coffee shop,” says Libryo co-founder Peter Flynn. “As it happened, we got lost and found our way to a clearing by the river where we stopped for a cup of tea. The seeds for Libryo were sown that day.”
