When Michael Jordaan retired as the CEO of FNB in 2014, he didn’t exactly sit idly on his 28-hectare wine farm in Stellenbosch. Soon after leaving the bank, he went into venture capital, creating his investment company, Montegray Capital.

With Montegray Capital, he has gone on to make several high-profile investments in ventures ranging from an online bank, Bank Zero, to telecom operator, RAIN.
