How AVBOB’s Helen Constantinides is using IT to put customers first.

It’s not often that a woman replaces another woman as CIO at a large corporation, but this is what happened when Helen Constantinides took over as Group CIO at AVBOB Mutual Assurance Society, three years ago.

“Change is good. We are seeing more diversity in ICT at executive levels,” says Constantinides. She hopes this becomes more common as it will mean more women are appointed CIOs and executives. Constantinides knows from experience that it’s not easy for women to get a high profile job in ICT. “I had to work a lot harder than other people to get to where I am.”
