If you place beer and nappies next to one another in a store, do sales of both products increase? Well, it’s complicated, according to Mark Madsen, president of the Third Nature consultancy.

Madsen, speaking at ITWeb’s Business Intelligence summit recently, said he first heard about the beer and diapers story in 1993, but when he investigated he didn’t find a correlation at first.
