A new television over internet protocol (IPTV) service has just been announced to public beta testers, by the founders of the Skype internet telephony project. Initial reports are pretty positive. It's an interactive, full-screen, broadcast quality service.

“The concept is to produce an online media application, allowing you to watch TV over the internet,” explains Graham Leggett, a consultant and telecoms expert. “What makes it unique over the other IPTV apps available is that it has a bittorrent style model for getting the actual content to you.”
