If data is the new oil, there’s a lot of refining that needs to be done to it before it can be used to fuel the engine of business. How do we move from simply acquiring and storing data to making it accessible and capable of delivering real value.

One of the big challenges has been that a lot of companies are still caught in the world of BI reporting; trying to get reporting done in a manner that’s easy for business is still a huge challenge. We’re still not at the point where it’s a self-service application able to answer the questions business will ask; there’s still a project pipeline where IT people have to get involved.
