You can`t outsource love

Searching for the meaning of life in an increasingly uncertain world? Look to your friends – not your graphical user interface.

01 September 2002

Just a decade ago, farming used to be all about the best crop. Now it is about the most crop. It is about the numbers. That is what this era represents to me – numbers. In the previous decade the world clearly shifted from quality to quantity as we saw the “commoditisation” of everything that used to be sacred.

Relationships are what life is really all about. And we can`t outsource them. We can`t replace substance with technology. We can`t hide behind e-mail and pretend we are looking after customers. We can`t lead people via a graphical user interface. We can`t allow cell phones to control us. We should be controlling technology, not the other way round.
