Feel cheated? Let`s rumble!

Since there`s no conventional competition to keep the Telkom tariff cancer in check, maybe alternative remedies can help.

Telkom`s shameless tariff hike this year deserves to be challenged. And it took an American professor to lead the way. If this was America, William Melody`s research note on Telkom`s rate increase would have been sufficient grounds for a class action against the incumbent.

But could this happen in South Africa? I have reason to believe so. Let`s consider the facts, and then sketch the outline of a potential case.
