Benjamin Disraeli once said, “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.” Well, actually, it seems that is a lie.

In his Autobiography, published posthumously in 1924, Mark Twain wrote: “The remark attributed to Disraeli would often apply with justice and force: ‘There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics`.”
