Solid, profitable, but an enigma

Capgemini is an interesting player in the technology, digital transformation and consulting space, competing with the likes of Accenture. But there are questions about its strategy.

One of the oldest IT services companies in existence, Capgemini was established back in 1967. The French company is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange, and while it has grown steadily over the years, it has never shot the lights out.

It describes itself as a global leader in consulting, technology services and digital transformation, and is focused on cloud, digital and platforms. In essence it’s a mini Accenture and competes with many of the Indian companies working in the same space, such as Infosys, Wipro and Tata.
