When you look back over time, many women have been leading tech innovators. Take Lady Ada Lovelace, the daughter of poet Lord Byron. She is generally regarded as the world’s first computer programmer.

A maths prodigy, she was approached by inventor Charles Babbage, who had envisioned a machine that he believed would be able to do complex mathematical calculations.
